We want everyone to be able to use EqasOnline Academy at academy.eqasonline.com, including the course, the exam, your account and the verify pages. It is run by legal entity (to be confirmed) ("EqasOnline", "we").
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
This statement is a draft. We will test the Academy against WCAG 2.1 AA before launch, using automated checks and manual testing with a keyboard and a screen reader. We will update the list of known issues below with what we find.
What our target means for you
When we meet our target, you should be able to:
- Use every page with a keyboard alone.
- Use a screen reader on the course text, the exam and your account.
- Zoom text to 200 % without losing content.
- Use the site at narrow widths, including on a phone.
- Read text and controls that meet WCAG AA colour contrast.
Known limits
These parts of the Academy may be harder to use. We are working on them.
Animated lessons. Each course module includes an animated lesson. If you cannot watch the animation, each module also has written notes that cover the same topics. [[TBC: confirm captions, a text alternative for each animation, and whether lessons respect the "reduce motion" setting.]]
Charts and formulas. Some lessons and exam questions show charts, plots and formulas such as z-scores and σpt. [[TBC: confirm that every chart in an exam question has a text description and that formulas read correctly with screen readers.]]
The exam time limit. The exam has a 60-minute limit. If you need more time, you can ask for extra time before you start. See section 8 of the Candidate handbook.
Focus loss logging. During the exam, we record when the exam page loses focus. Some assistive technology, such as dictation or magnification software, can move focus away from the page. This does not count against you on its own. A person reviews any flagged attempt. If you use such software, tell us in an accommodation request before you start, so the reviewer knows.
One-time sign-in codes. You sign in with a code we email to you. The code expires after [[TBC: code lifetime]]. If it expires, you can ask for a new one.
Ask for help or report a problem
If you find something you cannot use, or you need content in another format, email contact email (to be confirmed). Please tell us:
- the page or the part of the exam,
- what you were trying to do,
- the device, browser and any assistive technology you use.
We reply within 5 working days. If you need an exam accommodation, use the accommodation request in your account so that we can set it up before you start.
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can make a complaint as described in section 11 of the Candidate handbook.
